Jacob Lane is a composer, pianist, and educator who lives in Davis, California. He is the pianist for the chamber group Sleight Ensemble and a member of The Music Teachers’ Association of California. In addition to his private studio, Jacob teaches piano performance and music theory at New World Music Academy in Pleasanton, CA. Jacob holds degrees in music performance from Mills College in Oakland, CA (MFA), and Northern Vermont University in Johnson, VT (BA), and he is currently enrolled in the graduate program for music theory and composition at The University of California, Davis. He has studied piano performance with Diane Huling and Robert Schwartz, and composition with Dennis Bathory-Kitsz, Pablo Ortiz, Mika Pelo, Kurt Rohde and Laure San Martin. Jacob's works have been performed by: Orange Road String Quartet, Pushback Collective, Nick May, Mohave Trio, The Eclipse Quartet, Chris Froh, and Berlin Percussion Piano.
